Matt Zurbo is a writer and bush worker. He has had nine kids books published, one of which became an Emmy winning cartoon, as well as YA novels (shortlisted CBC Book of the Year), and various works of fiction and non-fiction. He has written for music magazines and copious amounts on Aussie Rules football. He has published many things under many fake names on the internet, just for the fun of it, but won’t tell you what they are! He just loves stories, and writing.

Day 360: With You

09/08/201910/08/2019 ~ Matt Zurbo ~ 1 Comment

With You by Matt Zurbo   These are the moments I’d like to be stuck in time with you. (Two kids, one helping other lower down a small drop of some sort.) As you’re sighing. You have a great sigh. Eating an icy pole. Pulling faces. Describing monsters. Exploring... While watching a movie outdoors. At … Continue reading Day 360: With You

Wombat and Smoke Foxes by Matt Zurbo Jannali was a wombat made of cogs and gears. (For this book I imagine beautiful b&w images, almost etchings, no greys. But up to artist. Wombat in paddock at night, looks normal, other than small bow off centre on head, and a few small gears and small aerial in … Continue reading Day 359: Wombat and Smoke Foxes

Day 358: Mum’s Crying

Mum's Crying by Matt Zurbo   Why is Mum crying? (Mother, head lowered, tears on cheeks. Child looking up at her, concerned.) I don’t know. Has some monster attacked? (Child and mother now small, big monster stomping away.) Or has one of the pets died? (Child standing, perplexed look over shoulder at fat golden retriever … Continue reading Day 358: Mum’s Crying

Day 357: Loopi and Vinnie – A love story… of sorts.

06/08/201906/08/2019 ~ Matt Zurbo ~ 2 Comments

Loopi and Vinnie – A love story… of sorts. by Matt Zurbo   Loopi had an owl, she flew like a kite. Up and down, all across town, throughout the darkest night. It embraced the moon, all its light, reflected from the sun. That silver hue, that gave views, of a place most people shun. … Continue reading Day 357: Loopi and Vinnie – A love story… of sorts.
